King of Coins, Dame Fortune’s Wheel Tarot
I feel like today’s Draw is an advice card. There has been a lot of business/career things going on in the last week (which kept me from posting). As the King of the Coins suit, Alexander is telling me to sit firmly by my decisions and think things through with a rational and calm mind. It was this Alexander, known as Alexander the Great of ancient Macedonia, who simply cut through the impossible Gordion knot cleanly and efficiently. Scholars and princes who claimed to be wiser than he fussed and worried about all the little details and failed.
Now off to make a thorough To-Do List.

Daily Draw:

10 of Swords (Reversed) (Dame Fortune’s Wheel)

If each card releases its own energy, then the reverse of the card is the block of its energy. It still exists, but the power is lessened. 10 of Swords to be honest is not the best card to get, but at least its power is somewhat contained. It is mostly a sad card, a hopeless card. I may have feelings like this sometimes, and it is always present in the back of my mind, but lately I have been extra motivated by many things so in a way it is hopeful at this point.

And the swords are reminding me I have a dentist appointment to look forward to today. Ugh.

KNIGHT OF CUPS (NOT REVERSED) DAME FORTUNE’S WHEEL

No idea why the photo is reversed. Cell phone camera….go figure. Knights usually represent an event which is about the occur fairly soon. Knight of cups is an “arrival” card….of either a friend or good news overall.
I drew this card at around 8AM this morning, and today I met some old friends with new projects for me to help them with. Things are looking up today!
Dame Fortune’s Wheel is my personal favorite deck to work from, we go together very well.

SEVEN of SWORDS (Morgan-Greer Tarot)
Uh oh. Swords isn’t usually the most ‘sunshiney’ suit, and usually gets right to the heart of your innermost issues, especially ones you’ve been trying to avoid thinking about.
Seven of Swords is no exception. In a lot of decks it is the “avoidance” or ‘shirking’ card. Note the figure walking away with 5 swords. the Five of Swords card represents a hollow victory or motivation through self-interest.  Two swords remain, and only two are actually defined. The two of Swords is a decision-making or ‘fork in the road’ card. So the seven here is emphasized as turning away from vital decisions, mostly because of issues with your own self.
OK, I admit, it’s taken me a while to do things. Mostly because I keep worrying about what others think of me and my work. I need to remember that I love what I do and as long as I am happy that is what matters. For everyone who dislikes your work there is definitely someone who loves it.

“Ace of Pentacles” Morgan-Greer Tarot
Great first Daily Draw! Considering my first etsy listing was posted last night! Aces usually mean the conception of something, the seed that is planted so the following suit can divide and sprout. Pentacles overall represent material wealth or business, so having the card that represents the beginnings of such is an excellent omen. Here’s a little bit about me: I have been reading tarot for nearly 7 years. With my art history background I love interpreting symbology and art overall, and the tarot is no exception. I always have more to learn and I don’t think I will ever feel I “mastered” tarot….or art, for that matter. If you are just learning tarot don’t be overwhelmed! There is a balance of memorization and emotional reaction that needs to occur for you to “get” it. Tarot is learned gradually and subconciously, like any language. A Daily Draw of one card is a great way to get to know your cards and practice. I will be doing Daily Draws here along with little tarot diary entries. This strengthens my ability and also allows me to show you my interpretations of the cards. Overall, I feel that tarot is not about grasping energy from some metaphysical plane….it is about drawing answers from deep inside your heart. it is sorting out your subconcious thoughts. In short, you (or the client) already knows the answer to the question, you are just drawing it out from deep inside. If you can understand that you are well on your way to reading for yourself and others. Long post is long…..shorter posts next time!
